a.k.a. Ahmad Omar. I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A son, a husband and a father. So how and when did it all began. I guess it runs in the family. I was brought up by both parents whom are passionate about animals. My mother has 21 one cats…and the number just keep on growing.
Then there is my mother’s home town, a remote village called Kampung Lalang located in Kuala Lipis, Pahang. Surrounded with lush greenery, that was my very first introduction as a youngster into the world of tropical rain forest. With it’s diversity of animal and plant life, it helps to nurture my enthusiasm and captivated me even further. I could still recall the excitement of being able to watch Asiatic Elephants for the very first time in the wild, or even looking up at hornbills perching on a branch while I was taking shower in the nearby stream. But that was then, when I was still a schoolboy and now deforestation is making way for a new habitat for us human …Sad but true.
I tend to get overwhelm with excitement whenever I had the chance to even catch a glimpse of some wild animal passing by. Like the time when I witnessed a 2 meter Reticulated Python crossing an alley behind some shop houses. Yes, that was the time when I wished I had a camera with me. Ahhh yes…! That camera… something which I've regretted for not having it at the right time and place.
Malaysia is indeed blessed with such a unique and diverse wildlife. A national heritage that showcases its natural wonders should be protected at all cost. I hope the compilation that I've put up in this blog would somehow inspire you especially the younger generation to appreciate and to conserve our flora and fauna. Again thank you for visiting my blog.
